COMING CLOSER TO CHRIST:
The image of Christ reading scripture in the synagogue is what Scripture is all about: God’s presence and his voice/word which is transmitted to us. The letter to the Hebrews puts it well: “For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and spirit…and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”—Hebrews 4:12

SERVING OTHERS:
Praying for even 5 minutes with the Gospel of the day before heading out the door and starting the day may just give us the ability to bring the Good News to those around us: friends, family and coworkers. It may be the investment we need to bring joy into my life and those around me.
